Located in Gai Lai Province, the Gai Lai project consists of three forest management units covering 30,000 hectares of natural forest. All three FMU’s are owned and managed by the Government of Vietnam. A support program for the three FMU’s was initiated in 2006 through UNDP and GEF. TFT has been supporting the project since 2006 to implement key components of the certification action plan.
Despite low production levels these FMUs are important to sustainably manage as they represent a significant area of remaining natural vegetation in Vietnam and is adjoining the Kon Ka Kinh National Park and Kon Chu Rang nature reserve.
Updates
